Back in June, Germany adopted a National Hydrogen Strategy, to boost the use of “green” hydrogen as part of sustainable energy transition (Read More). Energy-dependent industries, such as steel and chemical industries, are key components of the German economy and the country opts for becoming a global leader in the field of hydrogen technologies.
Following the adoption of the Strategy, there was recently a virtual conference, hosted by the German Minister of Economics, on hydrogen as a source of energy.
Committing for lower carbon emissions and transition to renewable energy, is however very challenging for SMEs, which account for more than 99% of all enterprises in Germany. They usually lack necessary resources to implement new technologies. It is very important that action plans laid out in the new Strategy include SMEs and their particular needs in the process.
