For that kind of a transformation, the company needs access to funds; but their experience with the banks proved that the financial market participants are also not well informed about / ready for the new framework that is expected to come into force in the beginning of 2022.
The fourth transnational project meeting (TPM) of GT4SME took place in a hybrid way in Zagreb / online at the end of July. The topic-focus of the TPM was impact and sustainability and partners had various discussion rounds related to the new EU Taxonomy framework.
One of the case studies the consortium partners worked on in that regard was about a mid-sized company from Belgrade, Serbia. In compliance with the new regulation, the company is to ensure that part of its energy production comes from clean energy sources. For that kind of a transformation, the company needs access to funds; but their experience with the banks proved that the financial market participants are also not well informed about / ready for the new framework that is expected to come into force in the beginning of 2022.
Following the case study, consortium partners had a brainstorming session about a training program that targets professionals working at banks, which would help them build knowledge and skills about the EU Taxonomy, evaluation of projects and investments according to the new framework.
In our project, GT4SME, we aim at supporting sustainable growth and transformation of SMEs. Impact and Financial Access are among our project topics, which have been in the focus of the consortium in the last weeks. Contact us to get more information about the project and how you can get involved.
